OAKLAND — A person shot whereas driving his automobile in East Oakland Monday afternoon died from his wounds Friday morning, authorities mentioned.

Police recognized him as Charleston Turner, 22, of Oakland.

Turner was discovered shot about 1:35 p.m. Monday inside his car after it crashed into a fireplace hydrant at 60th Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard. He was taken to Highland Hospital the place he died at eight a.m. Friday, authorities mentioned.

Investigators imagine Turner was shot by somebody from outdoors the car close to the place he crashed.

A motive has not been launched and no arrests have been made.
